What is CBD?

CBD is among the numerous cannabinoids that naturally occur in the cannabis plant. Most CBD products available in the market come from hemp, rather than marijuana. This is because hemp contains less THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the psychoactive compound that gives you a “high.”

Marijuana refers to strains of cannabis that have a lot of THC. Hemp CBD, on the other hand, has less than 0.3% THC. It is legal in many places too.

Manufacturers use different processes to extract and separate CBD from other cannabinoids and terpenes in the cannabis plant. After the extraction, CBD comes in forms such as:

  • Pure isolate
  • Concentrates
  • CBD oils and tinctures
  • Gummies and edibles
  • Waxes and shatters
  • Topical balms

It can temporarily alleviate anxiety, pain, and inflammation, as well as high blood pressure. Since the ECS also connects to other central systems in the body, CBD can impact various areas and aid the treatment of numerous health conditions.

Great information. I have been using CBD for about a year. The quality of my sleep has improved exponentially!!! Sleep and REM sleep are two very different types of sleep. CBD has improved my REM sleep which is essential in that sleep recovery that everyone needs. I have been marketing CBD and I have yet to give away a sample that I didn’t get a customer in return. Let me state that again. I have yet to give away a sample that did not result in a repeat customer. I never make outlandish health claims because if you do, the FDA will come after you. I simply state my results and invite people to give it a try. Always make sure you buy CBD from companies that provide a COA.

  2. Too bad CBD is not yet regulated by the FDA. Right now it is hit or miss with regard to getting products that are pure and safe for human use. Many people claim great results in using CBD for various purposes. I am tempted to try it for arthritic pain, but have yet to buy any. After reading this, I may have to research it further. Thanks for writing about it Christy.

    1. Its uses really are varied, including for arthritis relief, as you say. I hope the research continues, along with the attention to quality standards.

  3. Important topic, Christy.
I have used CBD since the spring and are now free of the bad illness, which I’m sure, that CBD has helped me with.
I use organic CBD oil, as I buy from my local health shop. I believe, that we need to intake it so clean as possible to get the best from the oil.
