I love the concept of one person inspiring another. D’uh, you say, that’s the name of your blog Christy. But seriously, when you think about it, it’s all pretty cool. It shows the positive impact we can have on one another.

But sometimes we don’t even know we’re doing it. I remember years ago, being in a bad mental space and thinking “No one would even care if I weren’t here.”
My dad set me straight on that one! And so did other people. The reality is that you are likely touching other hearts without even realizing it. So let’s make that affect on others full of good energy, rather than bad.
Recently author and blogger Amy Caudill humbled me with her review of my book Versions of the Self on Goodreads. That review had me beaming, but you know what meant even more to me? That she said I inspired her to write a poem – and it was the first one in many years that she had penned.
Wow. Now that’s an honor.
So today I’m thinking about how we ought to tell people more when they inspire us so that they know the positive influence they are having on us. It’s a positive cycle and what better time to start than the weekend? Speaking of which, I hope yours is wonderful ♥
Christy
I love this so much!!! Inspiration is key! ❤✌
BIG smile here :)
It does feel amazing to inspire others AND be inspired! There’s so much beauty in passing the knowledge around. There are many things that we can all learn or touch upon, and it’s amazing seeing other visionaries. Working together and pushing one another to succeed is such a promising and rewarding feeling for sure!
Yes, exactly, so rewarding!
I love this. We often forget to show the people who inspire us how much impact they have had on our lives. This post inspired me to share with my step dad how much he has inspired me to grow and evolve. Thank you.
Oh this comment makes me so happy! Thanks for telling me that 😊 I’m sure you made your step dad’s day
In my professional. Inspiration is what helps most of my clients achieve their goals. Nice post
I try to do this, but often hedge and the words get stuck in my mouth, which is silly. I’m more apt to drop someone an email, and that works too. Since I’ve been writing about going through cancer treatments, I’ve received so many notes from readers who let me know I’ve inspired them to be more courageous in dealing with the crap life throws their way.
I agree! It is so uplifting to build others up. Especially when I see women lifting Jen another instead of tearing down. Great post! Love your perspective ❤️
So true 💜 Inspiring other people make me always feel happy. You are such an inspiration 😘 Thank you for this beautiful post
Aww, Christy, I just got a chance to catch up on posts today. I’m honored that you mentioned me. I simply thought I should give credit where it was due. You’re an amazing author and blogger and I know you touch so many with your words. Please keep up the good work!
Many hugs
Your review meant a lot to me, Amy!
True. I also enjoy reviewing. Currently, I’m reading a book and considering to open a new blog especially to write reviews.
You would help many authors with those reviews!
😮 wow 😮 never expect that. However, I am a slow reader who process each and every word of the book.
That’s ok, there’s no rush. In the meantime, enjoy your day 😊
Thanks 😊
Beautiful post, it’s incredible how you can inspire someone with just a few words of kindness. Think we should all try to spread this wherever we go instead of seeing it as weakness :) thank you for sharing!
And thank YOU for being here, Krista :)
You’ve always inspired me, especially about women and sharing. I never did a reblog until met your blog “Poetic Parfait”. Like I thought reblogs were not good, or something stupid. Now I realize they are about sharing, spreading the words you want to get out! Hope you’re having a fab Family Day weekend! Oh, and your dad is very cute!
Oh wow, your first reblog was from my poetry blog?! Now that’s an awesome thing to read! My dad is cuteness for sure – awww thanks Resa xo
That’s how women inspire!
What a lovely post, Christy. It is a great idea to let people know when we have found their words inspirational or life-changing, no matter in how small or large a way. You do much to keep us all inspired. Thank you.
It is so nice to hear you inspired someone to write, Christy! I think it’s great when we inspire others but a lot of the time we don’t realise it. Sometimes some of us just want to see that what they want to achieve is possible. You can inspire someone in the smallest of ways – like you a book, or maybe sometimes even just having a short talk or conversation with them. I do hope you keep writing and blogging – always so informative and emotive through your words on here and in your poetry 😊
You, Christy, are such an inspiration! <3
Oh I’m just seeing these comments now Debby and feeling so loved… Thank you xo
As you should be!!! <3 xxx
Sometimes in the briefest time we can be an inspiration to others and we may not even know. Wonderful post as always Christy, have a lovely weekend 😀 xx
Aw that’s great! It’s an important message, so I’m glad you shared :D
Great idea, Christy. Recently a friend told me I had inspired her in a conversation after which I thought I had been “over the top”. Her response gave me a new sense of being OK with myself.
Inspiring others is truly a wonderful gesture !
Hi.
You’ve focused in on one of the keys to life.
It sounds simple, but actually it’s profound.
Wonderful! Thank you so much Christy.
It is really wonderful when something we write inspires someone else, Christy. I guess that is the point of writing.
You definitely inspire me by saying that we should let know people who inspire us. Thanks!
Yes true you are inspiring others with your posts
Inspiring one is very lovely gift one can give!! You too inspire by your beautiful post shared by you
Loved your post and your Dad was right.. and Glad he put you straight.. :-) I have told you many a time dear Christy how your blog, your poems, your words have inspired me.. Uplifted me, and made me think, You are a blessing… So Thank YOU for being one inspiring woman..
Love and Hugs … xxx <3
Christy, a wonderful post and so true! I’m sure we inspire people every day and when someone tells us so it is an amazing feeling! I’ve heard this a few times since the publication of my book and I feel so deeply honoured and overwhelmed with joy and warmth. To touch others lives, creative spirits, hearts is an astonishing feat. Wishing you a magical weekend, my friend! Xxxx
This post is a great reminder to actually TELL people when they inspire us. How would they ever know if we don’t tell them? And yet so often, at least for me, the assumption is made that they already KNOW how amazing they are. It is so obvious. But it can be obvious to everyone except the actual amazing person. Sometimes we are our own worst critic, after all. Weird, but true. Thanks for sharing! And I am curious about your book now.
True about being our own worst critic! I hope you enjoy the book if you check it out.
How lovely Christy! You are doing a great job :) If people get into that ‘bad place’ mentally I always remind them of It’s A Wonderful Life. Norman Peale, who wrote all the positive thinking and living books, says something similar about appreciating the love around you. God bless xx
Such a good point – we need to let others know more when they inspire us. It’s a truly amazing thing we can all be capable of, giving others a little motivation, encouragement, support… YOU inspire us Christy, you are awesome so keep doing what you’re doing! ♥

Definitely. There are radiators and there are drains. You need to tell the radiators who they are. I did this recently with a friend, and she was moved to tears! I couldn’t believe she was so surprised!
How wonderful Christy that you had such an impact on another person to write poetry. You are truly an inspiration!
Best wishes,
Linnea
I’m close to tears, happy tears, at all of these supportive comments here. Thanks Linnea xo
How wonderful Christy! lovely post and it’s indeed a great thought to tell the people who inspire us and you are definitely one for me as well!
Christy, you’re amazing. This was a heartwarming, and inspiring post. No kidding. I think it’s so important to tell people who inspire us *right then and there* whenever possible. XOX
Have a great weekend, Christy! Keep on inspiring and stay inspired! :)
Hi Christy,
You’ve always been so inspiring and I am happy to see you reaching so many people.
Easter
How nice to see you back, Easter. Missed you! Thanks for the kind note.
:) Nice to see how well you are doing. Have a great evening.
That poem is very sweet. I think you are an inspiration. When I look at your site and all you do, I often wonder – how does she do all that? thank you for helping me do better too Christy! hugs!
Nice! Like in the movie ‘It’s a Wonderful Life,’ you never know whose life you will touch.

About a year ago, a woman approached me after I spoke at an event. She told me she had heard me 10 years before that and she was able to change her life after hearing me speak back then. If I hadn’t run into her last year, I would have never known that I helped her all those years ago. I love this reminder from you with this post. We don’t have to be acknowledged in the moment…we can trust that each time we share authentically, someone will benefit. We may not see the results but we don’t have to. Thank you, thank you! ~ Blessings, KK
Hi Christy…
That very moment you inspire someone causes them to do much the same to others. Your blog is inspiring for so many people, they are always filled with power, peace and love. The 7000 followers you have are inspired by you soft kind approach to matters of life and often the heart. You have a gift girl and I have watched it develop over the years.
Good to see your dad doing so well and enjoying the Island.
Hugs and all from Alberta
Nothing surprises me more than when people comment or send me messages tell me how my writing affects them in a positive light. And then I ask how many others are affected but don’t say anything. I try to be humble but it means a lot when your words can inspire someone or make their day better
D’uh that is the name of your blog. lol
It is nice to inspire people. It is even nicer when someone acknowledges we inspired them. I write poetry and some humor on my blog, but in the caption of my blog, I say I want to inspire writers one word at a time. Inspiring people can be the most rewarding of gifts we can share.
Have a great weekend. Trust me, your blog inspires.
