As I work away in my home office, I try to regularly drink water to stay hydrated. Some days I’m better at that than others (did you know that by the time you feel thirsty, you’re probably already dehydrated?). When I get busy with deadlines, I forget to refill my empty glass, but that’s not the only reason I don’t always drink enough water. It’s because it gets boring. Plain water isn’t so exciting. But OmniFizz can change that — And this gal who wants to drink more water tried it out! Here’s my review of the Drinkmate OmniFizz, a carbonated drink maker.
Disclosure: I received a free Drinkmate OmniFizz countertop machine in return for an honest review.
For more than just water, by the way
My main use so far for the Drinkmate OmniFizz is for carbonated water, but it can carbonate other drinks too. In fact, it’s the FIRST home carbonation beverage maker that carbonates any beverage. It’s easy to use, too (more on that later).
The fizzy water is awesome, much more appealing to my taste buds than plain water (tap or bottled). I’m loving the sensation in my mouth, not to mention how neat it looks in the glass with all the bubbles.
Yes, I could get used to this cool countertop machine, and plan to. Consuming more water can have many benefits, including help improve my concentration at work and preventing me from getting cranky as often.
Being able to carbonate more than only water with the same machine is a bonus! Other beverages you can fizz up with this machine include juice, flat soda, iced tea, iced coffee, wine, cocktails, and energy drinks. Just don’t try it with a drink that has pulp in it.
Why carbonate? It makes drinks more fun to look at and taste, that’s a big thing! Plus, it saves buying fizzy drinks from a store; instead, just turn the juice you already have in the fridge or panty into a carbonated beverage using the OmniFizz instead.

How does it work?
It’s simple to use. You can get the machine with the CO2 cylinder included (that’s what I received), or choose only the machine and get the cylinder separate. The cylinder is the magic behind the awesome fizz in your water or other drink of choice. It works via pressurized CO2, and quickly too.
The machine comes put together, except for adding the CO2 cylinder. Once you’ve added the cylinder once, you’ll know exactly how to do it the next time.
Next, fill the included bottle with water or another beverage to carbonate. Then secure it to the machine through a piece called the fizz infuser. Press the button on the top of the machine to carbonate. Remove the bottle and open the tab on the infuser to release pressure. Finally, pour the sparkly drink into cups.
Those are the straightforward steps to get bubbly drinks! A cool feature is that you can control the pressure by pressing longer (or shorter) on the top button to make more (or less) bubbles, depending how you want it.
It took me a few times to get comfortable with securing the bottle to the machine as I was worried about being too hard on it. But once I figured out how to do so, I was all set!
The OmniFizz has a smart design too. There’s no cord and plug (!), so it’s easy to move around from one part of the kitchen to another when you want to. Plus, it won’t use any electricity or batteries. I had to ask my hubby how it works if you don’t plug it in (I’m not very tech-savvy, lol). He explained it’s like a can of whipped cream, and I totally got what he meant.
What I like about the Drinkmate OmniFizz
It’s eco-friendly. Rather than buying single-use bottles of water, my family will use this. If we’re on the go, we can take the OmniFizz bottle with us (it has a cap) or pour it into one of smaller reusable water bottles. It feels good to make a decision benefiting the environment as disposable plastic bottles are wasteful, winding up in landfills and threatening marine life.
What else…. Hello, it’s fun! I look forward to using it at the next get-together hubby and I have at our house. I already know what I’ll do: Ask someone if they want water or juice and when they say “yes,” then I go to the machine and carbonate their beverage! I plan to serve it without telling them what I’ve done and see their reaction. When they look impressed by what they’re drinking or ask me what the drink is, I’ll explain it’s the OmniFizz.
It’s also more compact than the one from a different brand that we had a few years ago. That other one was bulky and took up more shelf space. This one won’t take up much room on the counter or in a cupboard.

What else to know about the OmniFizz
The carbonation system comes in different colors. I got the matte black one, which matches everything and has a sophisticated look. It’s also available in light blue, vibrant red, or white.
The included user manual has recipes too (with more available on the company website and socials). There are recipes with and without alcohol. I look forward to trying the Citrus Cooler! So far, we have used this carbonator for water and juice.
The first time my hubby used the Drinkmate OmniFizz, I was in a different room. I heard him making a drink… He then immediately came to me excited and said “This thing is way better than (other company)!” I asked what he found better about it than that other carbonator we had? He said he finds it stronger and that the fizz lasts longer. Looks like it’s hubby approved in our house!

Are you a fan of the fizzy? What’s your fave beverage?
