You might be wondering what to get her as a gift. Where to take her. Who to invite. Well, while you’re worrying about all of this, I think I know what most moms want this Mother’s Day.
That is… time together.
Time as a Family
When I talked to my mom this morning, we talked about the fancy restaurant that my hubby and I booked this Mother’s Day. And she explained that there wasn’t anything on the menu that looked like she would want. So, we pivoted. Because the main thing that she wants is… time together.
Yes, time. That’s something that you just can’t buy. It’s precious. It’s personal. It’s meaningful. And it’s the stuff of memories.
So, if you’re wondering what to get her this Mother’s Day. I’m telling you — It’s the special moments together that matter the most.
I’ll add a few more things that I think would make a lot of mamma’s happy.
Some Self-Care
Along with time as a family, let’s add time for self-care. It’s not often that moms take moments for themselves. But it’s necessary. It helps you center yourself, relax, and just step away from the chaos of the day when it’s needed.
What that looks like differs from one woman to the next, of course. A bath, a walk in nature, a cup of coffee on the patio… It doesn’t even need to be a long time, really. It’s what she does with those moments for herself that matters because it is rejuvinating.
And we want mom to be rested and happy, right?!!
Someone Else to Plan Special Days
Is that too much to ask? Nope.
On TikTok recently, one mom said she’s unsubscribing from holidays because she’s tired of planning them. Yes, that includes planning her own Mother’s Day.
Let’s make the effort, whether we’re the partner, child, or another loved one, to show moms how much they matter. That could be booking her time together at the spa or making memories together in other ways.
It’s a lot of pressure to plan all special occasions, and putting that on one woman’s shoulders isn’t fair! Why does mom have to plan it all? She doesn’t, and that’s why we ought to take turns hosting dinners or planning events for holidays.
What do you think mom wants for Mother’s Day? Wishing all the moms out there a wonderful day 💗 I’ll see you soon, mom!

Hi Christy, this is a thoughtful post. I can certainly understand the comment about unsubscribing from holidays. I always have to plan and execute them too. My sisters are very blasé about all the effort and often don’t even come, cancelling at the last minute. I’ve decided not to invite them any more.
Hi Robbie, those sisters of yours aren’t understanding all of the planning that goes into events! They will miss it when they are no longer invited. I’m thinking you’ll focus more on those who appreciate your efforts. And hopefully you’ll get some help soon!
Mother is someone special for all of us. Happy Mother’s Day. 💖🌹🥰🙏
Yes! Biological moms, stepmoms, adopting moms, cat moms, dog moms. and more… All of them!
Excellent and very thoughtful tips!
Cheers to moms!!
Check! All taken care.
I hope she had an amazing day!!
