Taking Inspiration From Women Who’ve Made It To The Top

Look to other females for inspiration

Who do you look up to? What aspirations do you have? If you have goals, you may face a challenging road ahead, but nothing should hold you back. In the past, women have struggled to get to the top, but times are changing, and the leading lights in this infographic show us that anything is possible. If you need motivation or a push in the right direction, taking inspiration from women who have hit their targets is a wonderful place to start.

If you feel like you’ve encountered a lot of setbacks in your quest to achieve your dreams, take heart from the words of one of the world’s best-selling authors, J K Rowling. Life hasn’t always been rosy, and the award-winning author says that “it is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might not have lived at all- in which case you fail by default.” If things haven’t worked out, keep plugging away. Overnight success is very rare.

Remember that above everything, you are in charge of your destiny. As British Olympic champion, Jessica Ennis-Hill suggests, “the only one who can tell you you can’t win is you, and you don’t have to listen.” Be confident in your own abilities and strengths and give yourself the best chance of getting to where you want to be. Don’t let others knock you down, but most importantly, don’t lose hope and confidence in yourself.

If you need a little pep talk or you feel like you’ve lost your way in pursuit of your dreams, hopefully, you can take inspiration from these incredible women.

  1. Rightly written…inspired at the same time… we girls tend to see more deadlocks rather than focusing on our inner potential which lies in us.. ME too has realised recently that I too have something in me and have just started to share my ideas through my blog…
pls keep posting such ideas it really help us to grow…

  2. I love these quotes, especially J.K. Rowling’s. It’s true that we can be so afraid of failure that we forget to really live. Thank you for inspiring us!

  3. I’ve recently Been eager to read up on the success stories of powerful women. I just woke up one day and thought that I needed some inspiration from women who have worked their butts off to be where they are now. Wanting to be an entrepreneur has always been my dream since I can remember but it isn’t easy. I’ll take all the advice I can get! Great post. I’ll take it as a sign to keep pushing. Thank you!

  4. LOVE THIS! I love all the quotes, and the posters with the quotes were so gorgeous! Thanks for the uplifting message :) I definitely need to stop stressing about planning out my life to a T… I worry so much about wasting time or missing opportunities…

    1. You leave amazing comments – just in case you didn’t know it! Some things are beyond planning in life (we can’t control everything) but sometimes those unexpected moments turn out to be the best ones in our day ;)

    2. Thank you! I do love discussions. I agree with the unexpected moments creating some of the best feelings :) I am actually experiencing that right now. Did not expect anything going in, just did something I love, but got a great reward and feeling awesome about it!

  5. This is fantastic, so encouraging and empowering! I love Arden’s quote about women not fearing who they are rather than what society expects/wants them to be. Thank you for this, it’s brilliant! :)
    Caz x

  6. I love this! I whole heartedly believe the the only person ever standing in your way is yourself. Whatever you tell yourself is what will happen. I set big goals and I always plan to make those goals whether it be with my health and fitness goals, or my personal struggles I face. Whatever I tell myself (Yes you can or no you can’t) is what the outcome will be. Thank you for sharing!

  7. I absolutely love these quotes. A person who is successful spends years working at his/her craft typically. Which, that’s good to remember because this blogging thing we all do has taken years, huh? Our time’s coming!😍 Hehe. I love your quotes, though. Because honestly, if we don’t try and fail, how can we learn to be better and do better?
And you asked at the beginning who we look up to? I look up to you, Ms. Christy. You’re an inspiration with your blogs and beautiful heart. Keep on keepin’ on. 💜💜💜

    1. Oh dear you, thank you for the kindness of your comment. It’s words like these that keep me going. I hear you on the blogging though – it takes a loooong time to become a regular part of someone’s day with our blogs. <3

  8. Oprah is so awesome… I haven´t paid to much attention to her until this recap (I recommend it to you, if you have time. you won´t regret it): Race on the Oprah Show: A Twenty-Five Year Look Back … Also I recently learnt that she supported Ellen when she “came out”, which was a quite rad gesture back then. HUGS <3

    1. Thanks for recommending the Oprah-related link, Aqui. I’ve long been a fan of Oprah, primarily for the generosity with which she shares her money to charities and starting a school for girls.. You’re quite right that she supported Ellen – and continues to do so! HUGS <3
