Love. There are so many kinds! Romantic, family, friendship, fur baby… And each of them is wonderful in their own way. Let’s get our loving on this Valentine’s Day.
With so much discomfort, violence, distrust, and downright meanness in our world, I choose to live in a space of love. To give and receive it. I know that I’m fortunate to have that choice and that not everyone has that freedom. I don’t take it for granted. Instead, I hone in on it.
I tell my husband how important he is to me, hug him for no reason, and kiss the top of our youngest kitty’s head. The other two cats don’t like smooches on their heads so they get my hand stroking their soft fur and seem to like it (I assume from the way they purr and look at me).
Outside of the home, or inside of it when they come over, my parents are always in my sphere of love. They are so kind and giving, and that’s a great model for me to follow. It’s nice to have those moments together, whether we are out doing an activity together (like eating!) or hanging at home.
Loving extends to my in-laws, other family, and friends. It also includes you, dear readers.
It seems simple to show and receive love but it’s more complex than that. Yet today, on Valentine’s Day, I choose to focus on simplicity, sitting in a comfy, warm emotional space. A place that is feel-good for the heart. I hope you get a bit of that warmth in your life too.
Wishing you a wonderful, heartfelt day ♥
