You might also tap into local online and in-person communities for support. Find others there who also have mental health disorders and find what works well for them in times of distress. You might learn new coping mechanisms and share what helps you to inspire others. There are also free resources online, like workbooks, that might be helpful.

Also, you can improve your mental health in many ways by making changes in your daily life. Here are ten good habits to start with:
Meditation has been shown to help with various mental health problems, including stress, depression, and anxiety. If you can, try to meditate for at least ten minutes every day. Close your eyes and put your mind on something else.
If you need inspiration, check YouTube for different ways to meditate. You might find a guided meditation there that becomes part of the daily routine. Press play and begin to focus, release, and unwind.
2. Going outdoors to support your mental health
Sunlight and being outside have been shown to make people happier and reduce stress. You could start a garden on your own land, go hiking, or go fishing.
If you can’t do many outdoor things where you live, take a drive somewhere else. You could also take a walk to a nearby park, which can be helpful. This activity can take your mind off the worries.
3. Eat healthy foods
When you don’t eat well, it affects your emotions and can hamper productivity. If you eat well, on the other hand, the benefits can include better focus and mood.
Some folks don’t eat enough healthy foods, while others eat too many calories. Evaluate your diet. Be honest.
Then change what your body doesn’t like. It can be hard to get started, but after a couple of weeks, you’ll probably notice a big difference.

When we are experiencing many difficulties with our mental health, the first thing many people give up is their self-care routine. Every single day, make it a priority to get out of bed, take a shower, and dress in appropriate attire.
You can say that you got up, accomplished something, and are clean. That provides a sense of accomplishment and can help with how you feel about yourself. Taking a shower or bath regularly can be refreshing and help you feel a bit better, at least temporarily.
9. Talk with friends who you trust
There are a lot of people who bottle up their feelings of suffering. Nobody, not even their closest family and friends, knows how difficult their situation is.
There is a good chance that the individuals who are closest to you are more helpful than you give them credit for. You can enhance your mental health in several ways, one of which is by being honest with someone you care about.
Open up a bit. Give them your trust and be honest about how you feel; then watch what they do with it. Sharing is one of those things that may make you feel very, really wonderful, even if it’s not something you normally do.
10. Go to bed at a decent time
Sleep matters. A certain amount of sleep is necessary to maintain your mental health in the best possible condition.
This involves maintaining a consistent schedule about when you go to bed each night and when you wake up each morning. No sleeping in.
Some of us get much too much sleep, while others have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep at the same time each night. Establish the parameters of your sleep and approach it like you would any other form of treatment.

Great post with fantastic tips. I have had many a patient over the years look at me funny when I ask them about their diet or tell them to take a multivitamin. Diet, sleep, and hydration are critical to one’s mood.
