A healthy house fosters both human and environmental well-being. Maintaining a clean, well-ventilated, and contaminant-free home is just one of the many ways to help yourself and the environment. And here’s good news: improving the health of your house is simple. Let’s look at some basic ways to start making your home healthier.
Have indoor plants
We spend up to 80 percent of our time inside, making indoor air pollution much more dangerous than outside air pollution. Air purifying plants is a great method to enhance the air quality in your house while also making it more visually appealing and relaxing.
Many common houseplants, such as aloe vera, English ivy, peace lilies, and many more, help purify the air in your home by collecting CO2 and releasing oxygen back into it. Adding plants is as easy as putting one on your windowsill in the bathroom.
Healthier home: Take your shoes off at the door
Is there a no-shoe policy in your home? Footwear has the potential to bring in a variety of hazardous substances from the outdoors.
That can include chemicals, pathogens, and other debris. When you get home, place a mat (and bins) to collect your shoes and a basket of slippers at the front entrance.
Declutter with every new season
As every new season rolls around, take it as a sign that it’s time to declutter. It’s amazing what we can accumulate in just a few months, and if you throw out things that are no longer needed, you can go into the new quarter in the way you mean to go on (or at least that’s the idea).
In essence, you’ll be decluttering four times a year, which isn’t too bad, and the more you do it, the easier it will be. Why? It’ll get easier as you’ll come up with a good system. So, over time, the process of decluttering will be quicker, and you’ll be more conscious of what you bring into the house in the first place.
Know how to deal with mold for a healthier home
Because mold and mildew can make you ill, it’s important to know how to identify, prevent, and cure these problems in the home. If you’re already unwell, it’s wise to click here to get the right assistance.
Mold can’t grow in your house if you turn on the bathroom fan after showering, use a dehumidifier, seal tile grout lines in the bathroom once a year, and clean the shower curtain often. These are just some suggestions.
Use natural cleaning products – And bleach
Using natural, homemade ingredients to clean is better for everyone. It’s also fun to try out different recipes for cleaning products and play around with essential oils and scents to see what you like best for your bathroom, kitchen, and living room.
Also, when used right, bleach is a tool that works. Bleach works well for cleaning and doesn’t have to be bad for you as long as you use it right and safely.
Great tips! Sorry, WP.com this time do not allow me to like, but to tweed. xx Michael
Thanks Michael!
Great tips! I don’t allow shoes to be worn inside. I just bought plants and if I don’t use bleach in my bathrooms and kitchen sink then it doesn’t seem clean.
Your home sounds healthy and happy :D
Thank you!!!
Can relate with most of these practices. Great post!

HI Christy, these ideas sound sensible, especially the taking off of shoes which is something we have never done.
