Use These Tips To Stop Smoking For Good This Year

Cigarette smoke

Everyone knows how difficult it can be for tobacco addicts to stop smoking. However, there is a range of options and opportunities out there for people who want to kick the habit. If you wish to feel healthy and stop all those comments about the smell of your clothing, use some of the tips below to help you succeed.

Speak to your doctor about hypnosis

Hypnosis is somewhat of a controversial subject because there is little scientific evidence to prove it works. Still, thousands of people manage to beat their addictions every single year using that treatment. So, speak to your doctor and ask for their opinion on the matter.

Try patches and gum

There are many different stop smoking aids you could try when you want to kick the habit. Gum and patches are the most popular because they ease your cravings by supplying your body with nicotine. Again, ask your doctor for their opinion before trying either of those products, and don’t use them if you’re pregnant.

Switch to vaping

As the infographic below highlights, there are many different options on the table when it comes to vaping. Thousands of people have managed to stop smoking using those electronic devices during the last few years, so maybe you could follow suit?

The decision to stop smoking is not something you should take lightly. As with any addiction, it’s important to get to the root cause to treat it, rather than replacing one addiction with another.

If you’ve used tobacco for more than ten years; you’re going to struggle. So, be sure to make use of all the help available if you want to succeed.

  1. I have suggested to friends who want to give that I could use a Co2 fire extinguisher everytime they light up…I was rewarded with a look of death😨
I’m glad I don’t smoke cause the price over here would have me borrowing money or getting cigarettes from friends!!

  2. Three great ideas here to help wean off smoking Christy. It’s a difficult habit to break because of the many nasty things tobacco companies add to the cigs to keep people addicted. :) <3

  3. I’ve never been a smoker, but recently decided to stop drinking and pigging out on rubbish food. I agree getting all the external support you can get may be beneficial, but ultimately will power is what you need. Find new hobbies, keep yourself occupied, and replace one addiction with another (preferably a healthier one).

  4. Hi, Christy! love this post. I quit smoking back in March 2016 and switched to vaping. One of the best decisions I ever made. This was after I smoked close to 1-1&1/2 packs a day habit over 25-30 years. I never looked back. In fact, I even cut the nicotine in my vape three months ago.
I am currently trying to get my roommate to quit once and for all. She pretty much has no choice now. She just had major surgery yesterday, and we are aiming to switch her to vaping too. Like I said… She has no choice but to quit now. :)
Thank goodness too, I loathe the smell of it. :)

  5. This is something I should probably take heed of soon… I need something to fill the gap, but hypnosis, vaping and gum etc are all great tips to help wean yourself off them. I think it’s a case of everyone being so different, so what works for one won’t necessarily work for the next and it’s good to have a range of options to try out.x

    1. Hypnosis can help you to stop cleanly and completely. It does far more than help wean you off. A good hypnotist will help you discover healthier, more beneficial ways to fill the gap. One of the main causes of backsliding is when people fail to keep whatever benefit they were getting from smoking. Hypnosis can help you keep the benefit but ditch the habit.
