Merry Christmas – And All the Best for 2023!

Christmas time

Here it is that time of year again. It is Christmas Eve, and tomorrow is the big day! I don’t know about you, but in our house, the holidays seemed to come quickly this year.

Reflecting on 2022

Looking back on 2022, it has been quite the year. My husband and I both started it with health issues, and we admit is was a rough start. At least when one of you feels good, there’s the ability to get things done around the house, keep motivation up, etc.

Over the course of the year, my hubby has had flare-ups, and oftentimes, we haven’t seen it coming. Changes to plans have become a part of the plan, if that makes sense.

For me, the countless doctors and tests at the beginning of the year became overwhelming and tiresome. It took over half a year to get a diagnosis for the seemingly array of symptoms and issues. I will blog on it in the New Year, but for now, I won’t get into details as it’s Christmas and there’s a lot of happy to focus on. Yes, it’s Christmas time!

Being grateful and looking ahead

It’s the time of year when we take stock of all we have to be thankful for. I am thankful for my husband’s neverending love, our healthy, beautiful cats, and our loved ones. We have a roof over our heads, and money for food and heat. There is a lot to be grateful about.

As we head into 2023, the appeal of new beginnings sounds lovely. A time for learning new things, strengthening relationships, and enjoying the good times.

We are not sure what will come but we know we have one another, my hubby and I. And that is a lot!

To all of you, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2023 ahead.

Be thankful for today, and what you have rather than what you don’t.

I am grateful for each and every one of you!

Love Christy

  1. Hi Christy, I didn’t realise both of you had such bad health issues. So sorry! I also had a bad health year following a bad bout of Covid in March. Subsequent to that, I seemed to be sick on and off for the rest of the year. Anyhow, onwards and upwards. Here to a great 2023!

    1. Hi Robbie, we have much to be thankful for, so that’s what we try to focus on. I know you do the same. Happy 2023 ahead to you ~ I hope the COVID effects go away for you and your health improves this New Year xx

  2. Merry Christmas Christy and I hope yours was merry and bright! I see where you get your strength from to inspire so many others. When you go through some things as you have noted, as challenging as they have been, I certainly admire your resilience, determination, and perseverance. You rock my friend so regardless of what life tries to throw at you, continue to soar! 🐱‍🏍 Peace and blessings my friend. 🥰💖😘💐😊

  3. Merry Christmas Christy! I’m sorry to hear about your health issues, but I pray that you both continue to heal and will have a clean prognosis for the new year.
    Bless you both!

  4. Merry Christmas Christy. I’m sorry to hear of the health issue you and your husband have faced and are facing. (I paused for a moment to pray for the two of you.) I wish you a remarkable 2023.

  5. I’m sorry you’ve both had your health issues and flares to contend with, too. I feel like each year it gets harder to look back because it’s all much of a sameness – worsening health, more medical appointments, more meds. But Christmas is a time for small joys and appreciating what we do have and what we can do, and there’s always something refreshing about New Year, isn’t there? The unknown, the chance for new things, new decisions, new hope.

I hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas and all the very best for a Happy New Year! 🎄

    Caz xxxx
