Let’s work on putting your health first

Putting your health first

Your health should always come first. We know that a lot of people don’t put their health first because it means making choices they don’t want to make. The problem with this is that it means you are not giving your body what it is asking you for, which is dangerous for a number of reasons. You can develop various conditions doing this, and you can also put yourself at higher risk for certain things such as heart attacks. In this article, we’re going to look at some of the things that we can do to start putting our health first, so keep reading down below to find out more.

Make better choices

The first thing that to do is start making better choices. It’s not as though this is the most difficult thing in the world; you just have to be dedicated to doing it.

Making better choices involves identifying what the problem is in your life right now and then changing it. For example, if you know that you are not exercising as much as you should be, t make an effort to change this bad habit. It could be as easy as going for a 30-minute walk a few times a week. That’s a great start for someone who barely exercises right now.

You can also start making better choices by making an effort to improve your lifestyle. For example, limit the amount of alcohol that you drink, and stop smoking if you currently do so.

Be aware of signs

You also need to be aware of the signs that there is something wrong with your health. For example, if you think that you are experiencing hearing loss, make sure to get a test as soon as possible. You might be nervous about this, and if this is the case then you can check out some hearing test faqs to see that they are nothing to worry about.

It goes beyond your hearing, though. You might want to do some research into the most common symptoms of certain illnesses so that you know what to look for. This info isn’t meant to scare you, and it’s easy to get caught up in what you read online.

Keep in mind that an upset stomach may be a sign of a range of things, so don’t panic until you know what you are actually facing. Instead, see a doctor to start to narrow down the cause.

See a doctor regularly

The final thing to say is that you ought to see a doctor regularly. This way, if there is anything wrong with your health at any point they will be able to pick it up, hopefully before it becomes serious. Schedule an appointment with your doctor every six months, and of course, go in the meantime if you believe that you need to see them.

Hopefully, you have found this article helpful, and now see some of the things to do in order to put your health first. Ideally, you should be doing this already, but it’s never too late to change your priorities!

    1. The other day I read this: “Doing something is better than nothing.” I loved it! There’s not a set amount to do, instead just making the effort to do a 10 minute walk or have a healthy breakfast IS an achievement. It all takes effort!

  1. This is wise advice indeed, Christy! I have found in my own life that one good choice often leads to others. On the flip side of that coin, one compromising choice also tends to lead to more as well.

A good example is choosing a healthy food option over a sugar-laden, unhealthy one. When I choose a salad with protein packed chicken added, I fuel my mind and my body. I’m more likely to get that workout in, and be more productive at work.

If I choose a fast food meal that is loaded with preservatives and other junk, I’m probably going to feel foggy in my mind and very unmotivated to exercise. It’s a true snowball effect. Over time, that fogginess and unmotivated feeling leads to increased stress and depression. That depressed state of mind leads to other diseases because I’m probably being sedentary. We have to see things as a whole because it helps us understand the complex mindsets and patterns we develop.

It’s true, that saying, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! Choosing right today prevents us from a whole lot of mess tomorrow!

BIG hugs and love headed your way. ❤️

    1. Hi Holly, one action snowballs into another similar one, as you say! In some cases, it’s a good choice that starts a positive journey and other times it’s a poor choice that leads to unhealthy ones after it. I hope your day today is full of healthy, soul-nourishing actions and the beautiful effects of them xxoo
