Both blue and red light therapies are treatment choices for these skin diseases.

If you use blue light treatment at home for only 28 days, you may see a drastic decrease in acne lesions. Some people experience a significant difference in the clarity and cleanliness of the skin.

Visible light therapy destroys microorganisms that remain on the surface of the skin. Whether light therapy is appropriate for healing your skin and preventing future breakouts is something to discuss with a dermatologist at a skin care clinic.

  2. Apply the paste to your face after cleansing and leave it on for 10-15 minutes
  3. Rinse off the mask thoroughly and massage your skin gently to remove any excess moisture

5. Aloe vera moisturizing

Aloe vera is a natural treatment for glowing skin. You likely have seen many aloe vera-based gels and lotions in the stores.

  1. I nodded my head in agreement with your entire post, Christy. I am one of those women who really didn’t struggle with acne when I was younger. However, as my hormones fluctuated in later adult years, my skin became an issue. As I increased the intensity of my workouts, I noticed rosacea and breakouts. (sigh) It’s frustrating when you’re trying to do the right thing for your health and your skin hates you for it!

    Your suggestions here are exactly right. A few months back I purchased a LED light therapy mask that has 6 to 8 color therapies with varying intensities. After using it consistently for a couple weeks, there were definite improvements. I highly recommend people try this, especially for chronic and stubborn skin issues.

    Zinc and honey are definitely powerful; especially manuka honey. ACV is effective for a lot of people but I find it to be too harsh, even diluted. I do drink a tonic of it each day though for overall health!

    1. Holly, it’s great to have your support here! Like you, I have been experiencing breakouts after workouts. The left side of my face, near my hairline, is suffering from all the sweating. I know exercise is great for me, so I’ll continue, but my skin has been suffering. When I found out about how the natural properties of honey can fight pimples, I was happy!     2. Aw, you’re so sweet, Christy. ❤️ I am sorry to hear that your skin is also giving you a fit from sweating during workouts.

      A couple of things that I’ve just recently discovered that might really help you. They’ve made a HUGE difference for me.

      One is keep a cold, wet cloth, near you during workouts. Gently pat (without rubbing) your face with the cloth when you’re sweating heavily. It not only cools down the face but also prevents the bacteria from sitting there and re-absorbing.

      The second is, have you considered pure evening primrose oil as your nightly moisturizer? I use it by itself with lavender and rosemary essential oils mixed in it. Wow, it feels great and it has done wonders for the skin! (Rosemary and lavender essential oils soothe inflammation, kill bacteria, and moisturize too). My rosacea/acne was a result of my skin being too dry after washing and cleansing thoroughly due to working out. I wonder if this is happening for you too?

      Just some thoughts! I also find that taking a milk thistle extract supplement helps because acne can simply be your body purging toxins from the body — through bowel waste and the pores of your skin. Milk thistle helps get rid of excess estrogen in the body (which causes acne) and it detoxes the liver efficiently so that your body doesn’t have an overload of toxins that your body has to remove through the pores.

    1. Oh. I’ve just remembered something I was meaning to say to you. I think I’m allergic to soap. No, wait, that’s not a joke. What I mean is that if I don’t rinse soap properly from my skin it comes out in something very similar to acne rosacea. Just a thought, but have you checked that it’s not something like this that’s affecting your skin. Anyways, it’s bedtime now so hope you get a good night’s rest and wake up sparkly and bright tomorrow.

I’m going to try to use products that Holly recommended in the comment section of this post. YES, I HAVE found that I was allergic to a certain soap when I was younger. Thanks for thinking of me!
