How you can better your life during COVID-19

Achieve in COVID-19 times

Life during COVID-19 times has been difficult for everyone. The reality is that are too many limitations to stay completely positive for this long. Despite the situation, it is possible to make the best out of it, although it does take patience and a determination to look at the bright side. It’s difficult to do something different than the norm, even if there is a pandemic preventing us, but you have to carry on meeting your personal needs. So, why shouldn’t you do what’s best for you during the pandemic? There’s a lot you can be doing to improve your life, so let’s focus on it!

A new normal

A lot of people are just waiting around and hoping for things to get back to normal once this is over, but that doesn’t have to be the best-case scenario. Who says that when things start to get better, you can’t start something new and improved?

There’s never been a better time to change up your goals for later, and now you even have the time to look into something new. Not only that, but you even have an opportunity to learn new habits – so don’t be afraid to alter that horizon!

Life during COVID-19: Pursue a new career

With the idea of going back to a new and improved normal, a change in career could be in order! Many of us have been stuck at home for most of our days, which provides plenty of time for studies and research.

Figuring out where you want to go in life is difficult, but if you’re not enjoying your current path, it’s pretty obvious that things need to change. It can be anything, you could be studying to go from fitness instructor to earning a dental assistant diploma – it’s really up to you.

Use this time in isolation to think about your purpose in life and your passions. Make the most of the professional and personal aspects of your life!

Learn something with your free time

As mentioned before, many people have had a lot of free time during their days stuck inside. So, why not use it to better ourselves?

There’s plenty to learn out there, and with access to the internet, there are no limits! It could be a new language, a new talent, something that you’ve always wanted to try your hand at!

Even if it’s not productive, learning something that brings you satisfaction is still self-improvement. You’re getting to know yourself better, and that’s awesome.

Without much time or effort, you can find plenty of sites online to learn anything you want about life during COVID-19. If it’s a new language, there’s Duolingo; if it’s a new skill, there’s Skillshare. Your options are endless, so you start to take a look at what’s out there!

Find things you enjoy doing alone

For better or worse, many people must quarantine alone, meaning that they are going to be spending a lot of time with themselves. While that’s not always a bad thing, there are times where it can be pretty boring!

If that’s the case, that means it’s time to learn how to treat yourself better. Alone time can be a wonderful thing if you know how to be the best company you can get. But that takes time and practice.

If you can figure out how to enjoy your own company, you can begin to look for things that you actually prefer doing alone. There’s nothing wrong with doing things alone.

It can actually be quite liberating once you get used to it in life during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. You’re in full control of what happens, and you don’t have to worry about what other people think while doing it.

Take care of responsibilities

If you’re stuck with nothing to do, life can get pretty dull, but there are upsides to it too. When there’s nothing fun going on, you no longer have an excuse to postpone those annoying chores you’ve been putting off for so long.

Whether it’s managing your finances or giving your home a deep clean, now’s the best time to get it done. Of course, it’s a lot of effort to take these things on, but you’ll feel much better once they’re completed.

They’ll no longer weigh on your mind. You can even start preparing for post-COVID.

Staying positive about life during COVID-19

It’s hard to stay positive when every day feels similar to the last. Especially when you aren’t able to get close to those that you care about the most. But, there’s still a lot you can do to stay positive.

It’s always good to make the best out of a bad situation, and it’s senseless to just surrender to it. You can’t gain anything if you just willingly give in. So, do what you can to better yourself every chance you get 💗

  1. Christy, terrific suggestions and it is a matter of finding the positive within the very difficult times! Funny you should mention Duolingo as I started learning Portuguese here before progressing to a more in-depth paid course with lots of books etc! The grammar is a bit tough but fascinating and can’t wait to visit the country when I have a chance! Fingers crossed they understand me! Have you taken up anything new this past year? Wishing you a lovely weekend! Xx 😀

    1. Hi Annika, how wonderful that you are learning another language! And I love that your goal is to travel to the country one day. Having goals right now are so important to keeping us out of the “blahs”… I’m loving gardening, and am spending many days outdoors in my very first garden ~ So much to learn but so satisfying ~ I don’t want the deer close by though!

    2. Christy, have a fabulous time in your first garden – how exciting! It is addictive and so healing! As for the deer, I’ve seen lots of places, including Sweden, with wire netting protection around plants and bushes … maybe that would be an idea? hugs xx

    3. Hi Annika, the battle with the deer continues ;) My newest technique is putting chunks of fragrant soap around the plants I want to protect. We shall see! Yes, wire netting is something that some of our neighbors use so that’s another idea. You’re right that it’s addictive and wonderful. Have a terrific weekend! Think of me Sunday in the back garden :)
