How to become more motivated in life

How to become more motivated

There are many obstacles in life, and whether you’re trying to achieve personal or career goals, you might get demotivated. It’s a natural thing to experience and one that can be frustrating, especially for those who are trying to achieve something or get an important task done before a deadline. Whatever it is, here are suggestions for how to become more positive and motivated in life.

Get plenty of sleep

Firstly, start your journey to more motivation by doing something that seems counter-productive. Sleep is something that everyone needs to stay fit and healthy. If you’re not getting enough sleep each night, your body is going to find it difficult to repair itself, and that makes things problematic.

Sleep deprivation could encourage more health problems if you’re not careful, and it could cause more damage to your body over time. Getting plenty of sleep is important, and the more you can get of it, the better.

Think about how you can improve the quality and length of your sleep. It might be that you start going to bed at an earlier time, for example, as a way to regain energy and become more positive and motivated.

You may want to consider getting blackout blinds. Or, maybe you get an eye mask that can block out any light that’s stopping you from sleeping.

The more sleep you have, the more energized you’ll feel. That can lead to more motivation in life.

To become more motivated, look after your health

Taking care of your physical and mental health is obviously important. There are a multitude of ways that you can do so.

Think about eating healthier, for example. There’s also getting out and exercising. Consider reading up about health in general too so you know what to avoid.

Your family medical history is also something to be aware of and a look on Wellue Health Blog may provide you with all the information you need. When you look after your health, you’ll find that you become less run down in general.

That’s a good thing. Why? It means you will likely get sick less and have more time to become more motivated.

Find an organizing system that works for you

To get motivated, it’s important to be organized. Having an organizing system that is effective for you, though, can be easier said than done.

It’s important to try and find what works for you, rather than doing what someone else suggests for you. Try to find yourself a system that is a good fit with your habits and that you can adapt to make it work best.

It might be that you do shorter hours on a project or that you organize everything on an online platform or app. Or, you might want to do things more traditionally with pen and paper. Do whatever is effective for you!

Set goals if you want to become more positive and motivated

Goals are an essential part of keeping motivation levels high because it gives you something to work towards. If you have goals, then you have a purpose to keep going and to stay on that track. Try to set a mixture of short-term and long-term goals whenever possible.

Feeling more motivated in life can be a great thing, so use these tips to help!

  1. Hi, Christy. For the past year I’ve been exercising five or so times a week. Mostly I go out on half hour walks. Can’t say that I love it, but the exercising does put me in a better frame of mind. Take care. See ya! Neil S.

  2. Such a great post, my friend! It’s true – in times of hectic schedules and all the current challenges personally and globally, we lose sight of the very basics we need to succeed.

I wholeheartedly agree with you – sleep is critical for our well-being, inside and out. When we feel like a zombie, we act like one too! Our mental health suffers – which triggers our physical health to suffer because we eat junk and don’t move our bodies! No wonder we go downhill so quickly when we are in this state of demotivation.

Your tips on organization are so true as well! Just because it works for so-and-so doesn’t mean that same system will work for us. Yet we can *all* benefit from being organized, well-planned, with a clear directive for where we’d like to go with our goals and dreams. It’s too easy to get overwhelmed when we try to do too much or simply lack proper focus because we don’t know what we actually want to begin with!

Another great article, Christy! Thank you for always sharing such sound advice that inspires, motivates and encourages all of us. You are loved! 🤗

    1. I have a feeling many folks are going to be happy when this year is over and a fresh one begins, Holly! You have many wise words in your comment, including how easy it is right now to lose sight of basic needs. Sending much love xo Thank you for the thoughtful comment!
