Thanks to those remote working opportunities, whether working for a traditional employer or starting a business, women around the globe can build lives they’re proud of. One of the biggest trends in remote work is the rise of female digital nomads. So, what is a digital nomad and why does it interest a growing number of working women?
What is a Digital Nomad?
In case you haven’t been watching the latest trends, you might not know what it means to be a digital nomad. These working women set up shop from anywhere in the world. From stay-at-home moms to traveling twenty-somethings, this is the new era of working women. Will you find yourself caught up on the digital nomad revolution too?
Today, more women than ever are struck by an urge to travel. Wanderlust drives women both young and old to ditch their 9-5 for good and take up remote work. Anyone who works remotely while they travel is a digital nomad. It could be that you travel a few times a year, or maybe you change cities every week. There are no rules for what is a digital nomad, only that you’re working online and that you follow your goals of seeing more of the world.
How do digital nomads do it? Many start their own business, freelance, or solely make money from blogging. There’s a world of options for making money online nowadays. 3 Female Digital Nomads Paving the Way
There are a lot of female digital nomads leading the way for everyone else. Check out a few of their stories below to follow along with their journey. They’re just a few examples of the changing era of working women.
Melissa Ng of Melewi – Melisa has been traveling for almost 10 years. She runs her own web design studio called Melewi Malawi, and now she leads a team of remote workers from countries all over the globe. Chelse of Hashtag Tourist – Chelse decided to quit her full-time job to live location independent when she was 25. At the time, she’d only been to one country. Now, she travels for a living while she blogs and does freelance work as a digital advertising specialist. She encourages women to live the life of their dreams by traveling confidently.
Couples can be Digital Nomads Too
Not only solo female travelers are “trending” those days either. Couples like @remotegaijin travel around as digital nomads too. They pave the way for a whole new online movement. Then there are also friends who travel the world together and work simultaneously. Female groups in particular are sure to grow exponentially in 2019 and over the next 10 years. The main point here is that girls are getting braver to explore and live their dreams!
