Create a Responsive Website and Focus on SEO

Search engine optimization is a very important part of digital marketing for beginners and everyone else. At least, it is if you want your website to rank higher in search engine results. The same reason requires you to opt for a responsive website. This type of site can easily adjust the resolution based on what device you are accessing it from. As a result, you have a very good, native user experience no matter the situation.

Start Blogging

You will notice that once you start writing blogs, you receive significantly more traffic to your business website. The reason is easy to figure out; blogs are informative, and they help you connect with your audience. Are you looking for a great way to boost digital marketing for beginners? This is it.

Starting a blog doesn’t have to be overwhelming when you have the right tools. And that’s what you get when you choose the leading blogging platform, WordPress. That’s why I’m on it.

If you’re creating a new site, you’ll need a hosting provider and I like WP Engine for the easiness of making updates. It really helps simplify your life. WordPress Engine pretty much defined this industry so it makes sense to choose them.

There are different WP Engine Plans to choose from too so you get the one to best meet your business needs. Plus, right now they have a 3 months free offer included with annual plans. That’s a great deal.

Think about Your Local Area

If you want to promote your small business solely to the local area, use localized keywords. Even if you don’t, you still need to do keyword research to find the best possible features that you can find on the market.

Digital Marketing for Beginners: PPC Ads

SEO is great, but it takes a while until it delivers results. So, if you want results fast, you need to find some other ways to get the results you want. PPC ads can really pay off immensely, so try to take that into consideration. You pay only if people click on the ads, so you do receive a pretty good return on investment in this regard.

Influencer Marketing

Another great idea if you want to get the best digital marketing for beginners tips is to outreach and use influencers. These influencers already have a large user base, and you get to reach that user base with your products. Sure, you have to pay the influencer, but this will give you immediate access to a relevant audience in your niche, so that makes a lot of sense.

Content Marketing

Start your own content marketing campaign and start posting relevant content on all your online profiles and websites. Not only does this help you with branding, but it brings in front a whole lot more exposure and the return on investment can be huge in that perspective. Blogger outreach can be a part of your content marketing strategy too.

Integrate Social Media

Social media can do wonders for your business so it’s no wonder it’s one of the top digital marketing for beginners tips. You can easily connect with people, share promotion, offer them customer support and so on, all while connecting with your clients at a more personal level.

So yes, this is well worth the effort and it can pay off very well. You can also invest in youtube marketing through the industry’s top agencies to get more online attention.

Now it’s clear that digital marketing tips and tricks for beginners is not at harsh as you may imagine. It does come with its own fair share of challenges, but digital marketing can pay off a lot. Just remember to adapt everything and you can easily take your business to the next level!

  5. Great content! Quite informative….I sincerely believe that an understanding of the principles and methodologies in digital marketing would exponentially elevate even a newbie when they figure out its bits. A lot is required for a successful digital marketing system or campaigns, its a combination of skills, tools, expertise , experience and a resolve to keep upgrading our skill set and knowledge base as we transition to new phases in our growth process.

    1. Aww Thanks, Vicki! Means a lot… Especially in this short text and video content era.
If you’d like to share ideas, network or anything else I’d be happy to listen…

  6. Thank you for sharing this points. I like to theoretical details and do my best to apply them to when working on my website. All these details about SEO drive me crazy, I am getting into kind of spiral with it.

    1. Hey, CreativeBarn! You’re extremely welcome and don’t let SEO scare you. It’s only a part of driving traffic to your site, with the creation of social media, it’s easier than ever to ask your friends and followers to your site. Keep networking and growing! -I’m doing the same.

Would you like a more in-depth (but not too crazy) SEO helpful resource? Let me know, anytime…

      Keep it fun,
      Parker

  7. These are some great hacks for someone who takes marketing with lots of reluctance. In this regard, I would like to ask you the viability of a blogging platform like Medium, in terms of building my brand as an influencer.
I mean, there we don’t have to think about SEO or attracting viewers.

    1. Medium is great for connecting with businesses and bloggers who post articles and pay the $5 a month, however, reaching readers who are looking to get your services may not be lucrative…
Self-Hosted is the best bet all around, you’ll have unlimited control over your entire brand… Not sure, that Medium allows you to brand yourself on their platform? -I’ll look into it…

-This is not to say that Medium won’t drive a ton of traffic to your articles but with your own branded site, you know it’s the right kind of traffic, does that make sense?

    2. Thank you for this elaborate post. There is so much noise regarding growing your reader-base on Quora/Medium vs. owning a self-hosted blog, it perplexes sometimes. I highly appreciate your feedback.

  8. Nice Tips!
As a Digital Marketer i can relate to each and every point.
SEO is a time taking process but with PPC we can reach our target audience in less time. Also, influencer marketing is the trend nowadays as most of the businesses are turning to social influencers to get traffic and earn the user base.

    1. PPC has great ROI in that you only ‘pay per click’, yet you’re still exposing readers to your brand! It’s one of my favs, Steve Pavlina got large with PPC. Influencer Marketing is a dream, Ironically that’s how this post started (thanks, to Christy) and we’ve been getting traffic and starting connections ever since…

Glad you think the tips are NICE! :)

    1. Thanks, to Christy for allowing guest articles! -This falls in line with our “influencer marketing” tips…
Thanks, to you for reading and let me know how things work out! :)

  9. Hello Christy,

great tips.I vote for number two. I believe that everybody has something to say, and we can learn something new from every person, right.Thank you

    1. That’s a common issue with free blogs on WP.com. Opting for the paid service does make it a little easier to customize SEO tools… But, going the complete Self-Hosted site using WP.org and hosting through Hostgator or another service, worked wonders, I never looked back…

You can add Unlimited Plugins, Free choice of SEO tools, Adsense, (once you’re driving traffic) Videos, etc…

Looks like you have a dotcom domain and hosting for one site will cost anywhere from $4.95-$16.95 depending on paying upfront or monthly. Transferring your domain is simple and with WP one-click installs setup is easier.

If you do that, download a few SEO plugins and you’ll boost your rankings over time… Sure, it’s a little work but it will help if you’re in it for the long run.

Let us know how it goes for you?
