Weekly Inspiration Roundup, Volume 29

Welcome to the weekend! I hope yours is going well. I was in the hot tub yesterday and it was lovely to relax there. It’s soggy weather lately here in Victoria. What have you been up to lately? As for writing, I know you’re all getting your blogging on and here are a few of the great posts I’ve had the pleasure of reading over the past week :)

Tips for Handling Changes Well

Life is change – some philosophers say there is no such thing as a constant in life. The next time you experience a big transition, these 10 tips for handling change with confidence may help you. Nicole uses her own experiences to help others, including when she had to change careers. Cheers to helping others as Nicole is doing here.

Inspiring Poems for Women

Are you looking for more inspiration? You may find it in the poetic words of female writers as showcased on Rima’s blog Let’s See The World. This blog post contains 5 Inspirational Poems For Women, including Maya Angelou’s “Still I Rise” and “Lady Lazarus” by Sylvia Plath. These strong women have such insight!

This Mantra Will Ground You

Do you feel like you need a bit more of that “feet in the ground” feeling? Is son, then you’ll like Bridget’s grounding mantra that includes words about being present and protected. And this mantra takes only in about 5 minutes! While you’re over at this inspiring blog post, read the comment section for additional chant suggestions from readers.

Exercise for Enjoyment?

If you’re looking at exercise in a negative way or using it just to lose weight, then you’re really missing out! If you change how you look at exercise, you just might find that you get more out of it, and, what’s more, you don’t have to look at it as being a punishment. The same is true of healthy eating. All of this is part of the great blogging discussion you’ll find with Julie’s What’s The Big Deal About Exercise?

No Superiority

ASohair reminds us that no one race, gender or culture is superior to another in the inspiring blog post Black and White !!. This particular write mentions how Adam and Eve are the source of all mankind and how “an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab” and “a white has no superiority over a black.” Well said.

What to Put in a First Aid Kit

We’re all told to have a first aid kit on hand at home but what exactly do you put in it? Vwoni helps us by listing each suggested item and a description of it. The box contents include alcohol swabs, cotton wool, crepe bandage, and pain reliever gel. This is a great guide for what to put in a first aid kit.

To Tell the Truth

A big struggle for many parents is whether to tell the truth in certain situations that you expect will break your child’s heart by doing so. Or do you veil the truth instead? This is the subject of The Natural Catholic Mom’s post titled Telling My Toddler the Truth. As per blogger J.M.J., it’s important to be honest with children as they deserve to understand the reality and “to eventually see that limits are there for real, logical reasons.” This is an inspiring read on parenting.

Easy Granola Recipe

Homemade granola?! I am blown away by how simple this granola recipe is and want to share it here. Thank you to Embery for bringing it to us. A hearty breakfast can be yours if you make this one and you’ll know what ingredients are in it because it’s homemade rather than ready-made from the store. It involves 4 cups of oats, a 1/2 cup of honey, and a few other items, with the oven time being about 20 minutes.

I wish you a great week ahead!

♥ Christy

  1. Greetings from DeBorah Ann Palmer. Just wanted to share with you that my Artwork submission will be part of the Union Art Show on March 11th in New York city.
Last year my Photography was featured in the Employee Art Show. I also have a photo collage on display at the Daily Press a Coffee shop across the street from my house. Hopefully I will be able to display more of my Photography Collages in Coffee shops around Brooklyn. Maybe even all over New York city.
