Weekly Inspiration Roundup Vol. 13

Inspiring reads from bloggers

Lucky or unlucky #13? Given the cold that doesn’t seem to want to let go of this body of mine, I’d be compelled to say unlucky. But then again it has forced me to take time for myself, and that’s a blessing. It is a reminder that, yes, I need self-care. Hence this post is a day late!

Let’s enjoy the inspirational blog posts you’ve all written this week and rejoice in the good rather than dwelling on the bad. Turn off the news headlines for a few minutes and enjoy some uplifting reads with me.

Heart Health: Not Just a Man’s Disease

Love Your Heart Australia offers powerful writing with the blog post Not Just a Male’s Disease. While heart disease is often thought of specifically in terms of affecting men, it also is an illness that affects many women. While the statistics presented here are specific to Australia, women around the world would be wise to learn the message behind them. Let’s educate ourselves to help prevent heart attacks!

Prayers for Las Vegas

This week was rocked by the Las Vegas shootings. This poem for the tragedy comes from blogger Christina of seaofwordsx. As she explains, the world needs love now more than ever. Reach out to those you care about and tell them you love them today, not tomorrow.

Kindness with Sunshinysa

This blog post from Sunshinysa is all about kindness, which we can never have too much of. I like her discussion of random acts of kindness, the quotes she includes, and the overall uplifting message here. It’s a good note to end this roundup post on, don’t you think? ♥

  4. Christy, thank you so much for including my post Not Just a Males Disease in your weekly round up!! I feel honoured to have been included, especially amongst some other great blog posts. As heart disease is largely preventable, education and awareness are key factors in reducing the risk of developing heart disease, so thank you for helping spread this important message! 7. I hope you recover very very soon Christy!🙂 What we do in India is add half a spoon of haldi(turmeric) in a cup of hot milk and drink 3 times a day. Within one day you will feel better and you won’t have the aftermath of cold – chest congestion and cough!!☺☺☺☺♥️
    And….I love Michelle Obama💕

    1. Aw! That is so sweet of you Christy! You are so humble and friendly with your comments🙂🙂 I really appreciate that💕💕💕🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

  8. Thank you as always, for sharing Christy. Love finding other bloggers. And feel better! I’m glad you are taking your own advice and taking care of YOU. :-)

    1. Hi Loretta, yes I had to take my own advice for sure and rest up… Not as easy as it sounds to do. I’m pleased to say I’m almost fully recovered now ((skips around the house))

  9. Christy, hope you are recovering all the way! It took me 2 weeks to feel 90% better. Oil of oregano sure helped with the throat/ear thing. Now my computer is sick. Wish I could just spritz oil of oregano over it! ♡♡

    1. Resa, you’re the second person here to tell me about the powers of oregano! That simply cannot be ignored! I’m feeling so much better today. Really nice to get your well wishes. Hopefully your laptop – the new one – is feeling 100% today!

  10. Ugh! Christy it’s absolutely miserable to have a cold. I’m sorry you have to deal with that. Please do be good to you.
Even though you felt bad you still put together a lovely roundup and week.
I choose to think 13 is a lucky number.
Wishing you well. Hugs on the wing!

    1. The roundup is one of the highlights of my week, Teagan, so it’s my pleasure to share it. I’m feeling much better today ~ Yahoooo! Hugging back without worry about infecting you with cold germs ;)

  11. Taking an oregano oil capsule every day will ward off colds (and sinus infections and allergies). Google “oregano oil benefits.” It may also help you kick this one. Feel better soon.
