There is no doubt that your body goes through a lot during your lifetime. And now that people are living longer than ever before, it is so important that you get into good habits that allow you to enjoy your health for as long as possible. Though there are a million ways that you can be kinder to your body, here are just a few that can be very beneficial.
Get the Sleep Your Body Craves
There is no doubt that we are all living busier lives than ever before and that means that sleep is something that people think they can sacrifice. Even the exercise you are doing won’t be as effective unless you are getting your seven to eight hours to back it up.
Start Your Day Off Right
Rather than starting your day off with your usual cup of coffee, why not try drinking tea instead? There is a growing body of research demonstrating the benefits of enjoying green tea rather than your usual cup of joe.
Just some of the health-boosting benefits include improving your metabolism, lowering blood pressure, boosting immunity, and acting as an anti-inflammatory agent. Also, you should enjoy your first glass of water of the day, starting off a pattern that carries you all the way through to bedtime.
Meditate
For people who have never tried meditation before, it may seem like a passing new-age fad. But the truth is that meditation can have some serious health benefits if it is practiced on a regular basis. Just 10 to 20 minutes a day to yourself can seriously help to reduce the impact of stress on your body, which we all know can be extremely detrimental.
Not only this, but meditation has also been linked with reduced stress, lower blood pressure, and improved cardiovascular function. And best of all, it is something that you can do from the comfort of your own home totally for free.
Get the Nutrients You Need
There is a whole range of nutrients that help our bodies to function well. Of course, a lot of these can be found by enjoying a balanced diet. Otherwise, taking some supplements like Finiti which contains fruit and vegetable extracts can give you the boost you need.
Another item that has been shown to be effective is probiotics. These help with digestion and are generally good for your immunity.
Develop a Good Skincare Routine
Considering your skin is your largest organ, some people simply don’t take care of it in the best way that they should. Applying sunscreen is a habit that you get into doing daily. Also be selective about the type of products you use to reduce scarring, moisturize, reduce inflammation, or for another reason.
A good moisturizing routine helps you to stay looking younger for longer so it is not something that you want to be missing out on.
Remember, both your physical and mental well-being suffer unless you are taking the time to properly rejuvenate your body.
Hmmmm…ok here goes…
Meditate….?
Drink…tea, not a fan but will drink it if offered..coffee all the way 😵
Food…i eat…fruit is a bonus….
Skincare…i have good skin 😒..occasionally use a men’s face cream when my feels like a piece of dried walrus skin ( no offence to walrus’s) ….😆
Sleep….who mentioned sleep!? Bahahahah 😂😂😂😂….
I had to put the emoji’s in or it’ll make me look like a sourpuss…i am smiling as I write this…
Christy forgive my humour 😌
ps…good post,maybe it’s time to change…
Hi Pete, well you can make changes slowly, that is the best way. All things in moderation too, as the saying goes ;)
Yep,true….whiskey is drunk in moderation,no wait, I didn’t mention whiskey in my post!!?!? Oops 😂
Change will be getting back on my bike…
Haha ;) Great to hear you’ll be on your bike again soon. Who knows what you’ll discover as you cycle?! Adventures ahead!
Awesome tips and glad you mentioned the importance of drinking water. <3
Great post! This is all so important and so many of us are guilty of taking for granted the little things that can go a long way with our health. I recently just started studying how important your gut health or flora are for your whole body. I currently started drinking apple cider vinegar everyday for it’s many benefits, minus the taste. I actually have been making many changes with skincare, diet, and my household items to change what I am allowing in and around my body and my family’s bodies. Thanks for sharing!
Good, solid, loving reminders 😊
I think I knew most of these tips/suggestions, but I needed to be reminded. Thanks for that!
Great post! I enjoyed reading what you have to share about maintaining a healthy self. I can definitely say that meditation and a good skin care routine are great practices :)
A great post, full of good advice and I’m happy I can tick at least a couple of these! The others are all good intentions, alas! I love the photo of the girl on the tree limb but am worried about the book falling in the water! 😃
Ohhhhh if that book falls in the water than we’ll surely have to grab it to dry it out (and of course start reading it!!)
To me the most important one of these is a good night’s sleep. In my vintage years this underpins all else.
Awwww <3 May your sleep be wonderful xx
Great Post! Christy
Very nice and useful post…..thanks a lot!!!
These are some great tips!
Wouldn’t that be a perfect life! :)
Oh yes! We’re kind to others and I hope we’ll start being kinder to ourselves (myself included) xxoo
Wonderful post, Christy – great tips (and links even in the comments). I’m glad to see the recommendation for probiotics – and SLEEP! (I just went back to link your Insomnia article to my sleep Awareness post today, btw)
Thanks to John for reblogging, too, or I would have missed this.

Hi Madelyn, I appreciate the link back within your post and also the great words here. Sleep ~ ah wonderful sleep! Yes, John’s reblog was so kind. As was your link inclusion!
You are most welcome, Christy. Thanks too for jumping over to leave a thank you under the post. Much appreciated.
xx,

A precious post!
I think we all can use few of your tips like Meditation, good and sound sleep. What do you say? Great tips.
Great tips CB… I would find hard to drink tea instead of coffee when I wake up… but can easily switch to tea afterwards. Right on as to skin care and meditation. There are natural, effective ways to stay younger in body & mind, don´t you think?. As to meditation, I have heard about a technique which is quite odd. To leave your mind completely empty of any thoughts.- Instead of listening to natural sounds (such as birds chirping or waves) this method recommends to listen to white noise… I had no idea what it was until I searched it on Youtube. (it sounds a bit like rain… they say this “noise” helps develop optimum concentration ( o_O )
Love & best wishes!. Happy week, hun xx
Hi Aqui, I like coffee too ~ It’s all about moderation, really. I enjoyed that video share and yes I’ve had some experience with white noise as a sleeping aid – I gave a white noise machine to a family member as a present when they were having trouble falling asleep. Love your visit here and support :) Have a great day!!
We especially need to tell young people to care for their skin – it’s often something people only think of as they get older, but the best protection is early protection!
Quite right, Jay!!
Another lovely post Christy. I do try to do some of these things….honest xxxx
Trying is the most important part in life, aside from loving xx
Yeah..it is also not always succeeding….. x
Thanks for the tips, Christy. Sometimes I forget about the mind/body connection. I need to meditate more. :)
Thanks Lisa and I wish you a healthy week ahead :)
:)
Great advice Christy…
The girl on the limb sleeping is special. Just hope she is not a tosser-turney type… Rest is so important to good health…
Hugs
Oh my now I’m fearing for the girl on the limb, eek! Hope you are resting, Rolly :)
