On Living Your Truth

Living your truth with Life According to Jane

Time to get real. That was the message imprinted in my mind after author Jane Carroll kindly asked me to be part of the conversation on her blog “Life According to Jane.”

Okay, I opened up her email and thought about it, thought some more, slept, ate, and then sat down and put my thoughts to paper. I ate again. Sometimes we just need some time. For me, it was time to write my guest post on Jane’s blog. The subject of the post is on living your truth. Thank you to Jane for this opportunity.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I am not saying I’m perfect by any means.

Do I still have days I struggle? Absolutely.

But the difference between five years ago and today, though, is that I now feel stronger when I talk about the journey from then to now. And it has been a journey of ups, downs, ups, downs… and it will continue to be. The difference between then and now is I am stronger today to deal with the mountains and plateaus, and that strength keeps the plateaus from ever sinking to where they once did.

I hope you like the post On Living Your Truth over at the “Life According to Jane” blog. Just click the link in that last sentence to get to it. Thank you again to life coach and author Jane Carroll for having me over to visit.

~Wishing you all a great day, from Christy

  1. Christy, it was great to read about your journey to becoming you. You’ve proved that it’s possible to come from the worst situation to not only becoming the woman you were meant to be but to help others do that too.

  2. Christy you are a very mature soul who has touched the depths of pain and lived through the layers of life’s dissimilitudes. I like your approach of reaching a “truth” about the inner self, and still be objective. Not too many people are this capable, or have reached this level of maturity.

  3. A beautiful, inspiring personal testimony, Christy :) An absolutely, honest and heart warming post! All the very best as you continue to help others through their difficult times… Hugs, love, Iris

  4. On my way, but even without reading it I know you will inspire because you always do. I know you will lift up, because you always do. I am so proud to count you as friend, because you are an ongoing inspiration.

To say how much I appreciate your comment would be impossible with words. It requires a hug! Thank you, Val

  5. Congrats on yet another fabulous guest post, Christy, and you can see what I wrote on Jane’s blog. ;) Sending love and hugs to you, my friend, and thank you for continuing to inspire all women who read your words. ♥

Lauren, I just read the comment you left at Jane’s blog and they had me crying. Thank you so much for your words, which have truly helped me feel stronger and loved! xo

  6. Truth gives us courage to tackle anything and everything – no looking around, looking back, looking over & under shoulder with insecurities…such a good way to live. Loved your post on it, Christie

  7. I read your guest post, Christy, and found it very touching and very raw – which is a good thing because that’s what makes writing interesting and writing which reaches people. At least this is what I think.
I hope that you never again have to go through the darkness you’ve gone through but your silver lining is that you gained insight and became closer to your own truth. That is awesome! And even more awesome is your ability and talent to share it with others! :)

  8. I can’t ever imagine your being so low as in the interview/post that I read. You surely have come a long way. I try not to be so hard on myself and that in turn makes me not so hard on others.
My thought on Living Your Truth is that I can’t shift the burden of things (whatever they are) to someone else. I can ask for assistance/help/ideas and use them. But I must face and overcome adversity within myself.

  9. Christy,

It was my honor to have you on my blog. I have admired you from the time we virtually met…even before I knew your story…but once you share it…I am in awe of the path you have traveled and the woman you have become.

Oh Jane, thank you. And the great part is that we both have today to keep going for our dreams and exchanging smiles xx Love to you (and Bertha)
